Cloud migration, done for you and done right.

We move small and mid-sized businesses to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, and the cloud, without the downtime, the surprise costs, or the half-finished cutover that hits Monday morning. Free assessment first, written plan second, off-hours cutover third. You walk in to a working environment.

// What we migrate to

The right platform for how your team actually works.

We don't default to whatever's most familiar. The free assessment determines the right destination for your environment. Here's the shortlist most small businesses land on.

Productivity

Microsoft 365

The fit for Office-heavy and regulated businesses. Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and the strongest compliance tooling for HIPAA, GLBA, and CMMC environments.

Productivity

Google Workspace

The fit for browser-first, collaborative teams. Real-time docs, simpler administration, lower per-user cost. Strong for marketing, creative, and consulting shops.

Infrastructure

Azure & AWS

The layer underneath, for when on-premise servers and line-of-business apps need to move too. Used alongside Microsoft 365 or Workspace, not instead of them.

Hybrid

Hybrid & on-premise

Sometimes the right answer is keeping specific systems local. We build hybrid setups when compliance, hardware, or a line-of-business app requires it, and we'll tell you honestly when that's the case.

// How an engagement works

Seven steps, in order, with a gate after each.

This is the same process behind every BadgerLayer migration. The order matters more than the speed: each step is verified before the next begins. We wrote the whole methodology up in detail if you want to see how we work before you call.

01

Assessment

A complete picture of your infrastructure, data, dependencies, and compliance needs. The output is a written environment document.

02

Platform selection

Driven by the assessment, not by habit. We confirm every line-of-business app works on the chosen platform before committing.

03

Migration plan

What moves when, in what order, who owns each piece, and the rollback plan for every phase. You see and approve it before we start.

04

Security setup

MFA, access controls, encryption, and backup configured before any production data moves. This is where most migrations cut corners. We don't.

05

Data migration

Migrated in verified batches, not all at once. We clean up duplicates and dead accounts first, then move and verify each batch before the next.

06

Testing

Real users test real workflows before cutover. Email, files, apps, printers, and the rollback procedure, all verified while the old system still runs.

07

Cutover & support

Off-hours cutover with us on standby, old systems kept live as a fallback, user training, and 30 days of post-migration support to catch the small stuff.

// Why hire it out

The platform never causes the failure. The handoff does.

Microsoft, Google, and Amazon don't lose your data. Migrations go wrong in the handoff: an undiscovered line-of-business app, security configured after the move instead of before, a cutover crammed into a weekday with no rollback plan. Those are the failures we're hired to prevent, and the ones we're hired to clean up after someone else attempted the move.

Doing it right takes a process and someone accountable to it. That's what a fixed-scope engagement buys: a documented plan, security built in from the start, and one team that owns the outcome from assessment through the 30 days after cutover.

Cloud migration questions.

The questions business owners ask before committing to a migration. If yours isn't here, call and ask.

How much does a cloud migration cost?
For a small business, a single-workload or email migration typically runs $3,500 to $8,000, and a full server-to-cloud or multi-system migration runs $8,000 to $12,000 or more, depending on data volume, number of users, and complexity. Every engagement starts with a free assessment that produces a fixed-scope written quote, so the number reflects your actual environment rather than a guess over the phone. You see the full price and plan before any work begins.
How long does a cloud migration take?
An email-only migration to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace usually takes 1 to 2 weeks end to end, including planning. A full server-to-cloud migration typically takes 4 to 8 weeks for a small business. We never rush the timeline, because rushing is the single most common cause of downtime and rolled-back projects. The schedule is set in the migration plan you approve before we start.
Will the migration disrupt my business?
We schedule cutovers during off-hours or weekends and keep your old systems live as a fallback until the new environment is fully verified. The goal is that your team walks in on Monday to a working environment and a short orientation, not a broken one. Most of the disruption people fear comes from rushed or unplanned migrations, which is exactly what our seven-step process is built to prevent.
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or Azure — which should we migrate to?
It depends on how your team actually works. Microsoft 365 fits Office-heavy and regulated businesses. Google Workspace fits browser-first, collaborative teams with lower per-user cost. Azure and AWS sit underneath either one and come into play when on-premise servers also need to move. The free assessment determines the right fit for your environment rather than defaulting to whatever is most familiar, and we explain the tradeoffs in plain language.
Do you migrate on-premise servers to the cloud?
Yes. We handle file servers, email servers, line-of-business applications, and full Azure or AWS infrastructure moves. Some workloads make sense to move and some are better replaced by a cloud platform entirely, and a few are better kept on-premise. The assessment tells you which is which. We're honest when keeping something local is the better call rather than pushing everything to the cloud for its own sake.
What happens to security during the migration?
Security is configured before any production data moves, not bolted on afterward. MFA enforcement, role-based access controls, encryption at rest and in transit, conditional access policies, and verified backups are all in place at cutover. For regulated businesses in healthcare, financial services, or federal contracting, we add a compliance review so HIPAA, GLBA, or CMMC requirements are satisfied before any regulated data touches the cloud.
Can a cloud migration be the start of a managed IT relationship?
Often it is. A migration is the best onramp into managed IT because we learn your environment from the inside out. The documentation, security configuration, and access inventory we build during the migration are the same artifacts an ongoing managed IT relationship runs on. There's no obligation, but many clients move from a one-time migration project into ongoing managed services once they've seen how we work.
