// Service radius

From Whitewater outward.

Whitewater sits at the geographic center of our service area — far enough from Madison and Milwaukee to keep overhead low, close enough to either that on-site work is a single morning drive.

Three bands define how we think about coverage. In-territory cities are at flat-rate pricing with planned on-site days. Extended-territory cities get the same flat-rate but on-site work is batched into scheduled windows. Beyond that, we evaluate fit individually or refer you to someone closer.

Service area questions.

Real questions from prospects in cities outside our four primary metros.

Talk to us about your city →
Where is BadgerLayer headquartered?
BadgerLayer's office is at 261 S 4th Street in Whitewater, Wisconsin, halfway between Madison and Milwaukee on Highway 12. The location was deliberate. We're close enough to both metros to deliver on-site work as a single morning drive, far enough from either that our overhead doesn't reflect metro real estate costs. That keeps our flat-rate pricing meaningfully lower than equivalent Madison or Milwaukee MSPs.
What's your standard service area?
Standard service area is anywhere within roughly 90 minutes of our Whitewater office. That covers Madison and Dane County, Milwaukee and Waukesha County, Janesville and Rock County, Lake County in Illinois (including Waukegan), and the entirety of Walworth, Jefferson, Racine, and Kenosha counties. If your business is in any of those counties or in a city listed on this page, you're in our standard service area at flat-rate pricing.
My city isn't listed. Can you still help?
Probably yes. The cities listed on this page are the ones we mention most often, not an exhaustive enumeration. We work across the Wisconsin-Illinois corridor and have clients in cities not named here. The fastest way to confirm fit is to call (262) 220-7884 or book a discovery call. Five-minute answer.
Do you do on-site work, or is everything remote?
Both. The majority of managed IT work resolves remotely because that's faster than dispatching a technician, and we deliver it from our Whitewater office. On-site is a real part of how we operate though: hardware deployments, network installs, structured cabling jobs, planned upgrades, and emergencies that genuinely need hands on equipment. We're in client environments across our service area every week. The mix on any given account is typically 80-90% remote, 10-20% on-site.
How does pricing work across different cities?
Flat-rate pricing is consistent across our standard service area. A 10-person Janesville office and a 10-person Milwaukee office with comparable environments get comparable quotes. We don't surcharge for distance within territory because we've already built that into our standard pricing. The reason we keep a defined service area is to make sure we can actually deliver on that pricing without it falling apart on the cost side.
